SID Startup Hackathon 2026

Co‑host · Event Anchor · Mentor

Othniel Victor hosting SID Startup Hackathon 2026

In February 2026, AI Hub Africa was selected as an official host for the SID Startup Hackathon 2026 in Onitsha. As a co‑founder of the hub and the event’s lead anchor, I guided participants through a 54‑hour marathon, transforming raw ideas into viable MVPs.

  • Co‑ordinated mentors, judges, and logistics across the 54‑hour sprint.
  • Facilitated ideation sessions, problem discovery, and rapid prototyping.
  • Mentored teams on product architecture, user validation, and pitch readiness.
  • Oversaw final demos, ensuring alignment with SID’s innovation objectives.

The hackathon fostered collaboration and showcased the raw talent within the region, proving that with structure and mentorship, bold ideas can be realized in a matter of days.

AI Hub Africa Women in Tech 2026

Facilitator · Volunteer Instructor

AI Hub Africa Women in Tech 2026 program flyer

In 2026, I volunteered as a facilitator for the AI Hub Africa Women in Tech Program, a free 3‑month software development bootcamp aimed at empowering 1,000 women in Anambra State with practical coding skills.

  • Co‑designed curriculum covering fundamentals of software engineering, tools, and workflow.
  • Provided hands‑on mentorship, project reviews, and weekly workshops.
  • Collaborated with fellow facilitators to ensure participant engagement and progress.
  • Helped set up the hub environment: workspace, power supply, media equipment, and software tools.

This initiative not only broadened opportunities for women in technology but also reinforced my commitment to inclusive tech education and community building.
